Grand Prize: $20,000 cash and a trip for 2 to New York City for a VIP Photo Shoot with the winner and Cooking Light Executive Chef, Billy Strynkowski. The photos will appear in the December 2010 Issue of Cooking Light Magazine. The trip includes airfare hotel, ground transportation, dinner with Cooking Light Executive Chef, Billy Strynkowski, tickets to the New York Supper Club, and $1,670 for spending money and to help defray taxes. (ARV: $25,000) Finalist Prizes (6): $500 cash. (ARV: $500)
Voting Prize: A basket filled with Sponsors’ products and Cooking Light premiums. (ARV: $1,000)
To enter, submit a recipe that is lower in fat and calories than traditional recipes, and that contains at least one of the following products: al fresco All Natural Chicken Sausage, Mexican Hass Avocado Importers Association, Domino and C&H Sugar, Eggland’s Best Eggs, McCormick Perfect Pinch Seasoning Blends, Newman’s Own Pasta Sauce, or Sargento Reduced Sodium Natural Cheese. Seven finalists will be chosen by Cooking Light Executive Chef, Billy Strynkowski on the basis of taste (35%), visual appeal (30%), best use of Co-Sponsor’s ingredients (20%), and originality (15%).
The grand-prize winner will be chosen based on Billy Strynkowski’s rating (70%) and public vote (30%). One voter will win the Voting Prize, drawn at random.

Ba Ba Boomers…..Are you a Shining Example when it comes to saving energy? If so, then we want to hear from you! Enter our contest to win a Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) makeover and a free Comprehensive Home Assessment that will test your home’s energy performance and show you how to save even more money. Some winners may also have their videos featured in a NYSERDA commercial. All you have to do is show us in a 90-second video or write us a 250-word essay about how and why you’ve switched to ENERGY STAR® qualified CFLs in order to save energy at home.
This contest is open to people at least 13 years old that reside in New York.
Each of the ten (10) video winners will be eligible to: 1) have portions of their video appear in the Shining Example television ad debuting in Fall 2010, 2) receive a FREE Comprehensive Home Assessment through Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® to show where their home is losing energy and recommend ways to help reduce energy usage and 3) receive a FREE CFL bulb makeover for themselves and ten (10) neighbors (up to $150 of CFLs per makeover).
Each of the ten (10) essay winners will be eligible to: 1) have their essay posted on www.ShiningExampleNY.com, 2) receive a FREE Comprehensive Home Assessment through Home Performance with ENERGY STAR and 3) receive a FREE CFL bulb makeover for themselves.
